“Grace and peace to you all in Jesus’ mighty name. My name is Hilma from Namibia. I want to put the owner of failure to shame and glorify the name the Lord. I was having a problem of failing a certain subject, which is Math, since High School. When I was applying for my course, I didn’t want to apply for a course with subjects which included mathematics because of this. But my aunty encouraged me to apply for a Bachelor of Economics, and there’s a module for Mathematics for Economists. I encouraged myself to just deal with it. So, the first semester exam came and I did not qualify to write the exam for Math, so I went to write a supplementary test. I barely managed to pass that test. When I wrote my exam, the results came out and I failed Math again but passed all other subjects. I was allowed to write another supplementary test but still failed. It was so disappointing and embarrassing. I was even more worried about Math 1B since I didn’t pass Math 1A.
“On November 2, 2024, I came across God’s Heart TV on Instagram. I followed the link to their website and submitted a prayer request concerning this academic failure and other things. That day there was an Interactive Prayer Service happening, which I joined on Instagram live and prayed with Brother Chris. I started my exams from November 5-13, 2024. There were two modules that were super difficult but I found the exam for Math was better this time. During my wait for result, I had this feeling I would need to write supplementary exams for those two subjects that were too difficult and I was also doubting I would pass Math. When I got my results, I passed all my modules – including Math! I was so overwhelmed with joy. I was then invited to join the Interactive Prayer Service on December 7, 2024. It was such a great joy to join the service through Zoom!
“Another thing is that I was weak in reading my Bible. Whenever I wanted to read the Bible, I would just get lazy or when reading the Bible, I would get distracted by some thoughts and not continue again. I would just be on my phone. But now, in the morning, the first thing I will do is read my Bible and pray – even before I touch my phone. I didn’t think about sharing this testimony but on January 4, 2025, Brother Chris encouraged us to give our testimonies. He said we should appreciate God, even for the little things the Lord has done in our lives, for He will bless us with more testimonies. My word of encouragement is that we should not fight our situations with physical strength but instead hand it to God in prayers and be guided by His sweet Word in our everyday life. Amen!”
