Ephesians 2:19-20, “Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief Cornerstone.”
God is not as interested in our present comfort as He is in our eternal glory. This is because His desire for you is to be in relationship with Him. In fact, no state of being is as rewarding as living in tune with God.
Be careful, people of God, what you are praying for. It is very common today for people to go to church to seek the face of God for something their spiritual life is not yet strong enough to accommodate. God is not going to give you something you are not yet mature enough to manage and maintain.
Isn’t it ironic that the very thing we are praying for God to give us is often the same thing satan will use to attack our relationship with God! That is the reason why God will take His time to consider your request because He is busy preparing you for what you are praying for.
The first place you are to prosper is your spiritual life because your relationship with God is the engine that carries your success. When you make God your heart’s delight you will have your heart’s desires. To pray and receive an answer, put relationship before results; look after your relationship with God and let God look after the results.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, help me to never forget the value of my relationship with You. Thank You that You will not give me what my character cannot maintain. So I put my trust in You with the assurance that You know how best to provide for my needs. In Jesus’ name, amen.
