SOCIAL VENTURE PROJECT AWARDED $9,000!

“Grace and peace to you in Jesus’ name. My name is Esnart. I’m a Malawian studying in Kenya. I’m under the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at the United States International University, Africa, and I’m pursuing a bachelor’s degree in International Relations. I have many testimonies to share! I came to know about God’s Heart TV on Facebook back in 2023. My parents are in Malawi and when I left home, things were not going well financially. I thought with time things would change. But when I came to Kenya and called back home to check on my family, I heard that things had worsened to the extent that water was disconnected at home because there was no money to settle the water bill. My younger brother even stopped going to school because of the financial situation. So, it was really hard for me. Sometimes I would cry and couldn’t focus on my studies. Just like in Nehemiah 2:1-3 – Nehemiah was sad because the city of his ancestors was in ruins. Even though there were many things to be happy about in the palace, Nehemiah’s heart mourned because of what was happening where he came from. This was also happening to me. Even though there were many things to be happy about, I wasn’t because of what my family was going through. So, I decided to take it to the Lord in prayer. I sent a prayer request to God’s Heart TV and was privileged to be part of the Interactive Prayer Service. That was on July 3, 2023.

“During the prayer, when Brother Chris was praying, I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. I started shaking and fell under the influence of the Holy Spirit. I wrote all my prayer requests on a notepad and I held it during the prayer time. Brothers and sisters, I’m here to testify that God has turned the story around! Things are going well at home. My dad has managed to settle the bills and my little brother has returned to school. Not only that, I have seen the hand of God in my academics. I have been passing with distinctions in my end of semester exams. In courses where I wasn’t even expecting to get A’s, I got A’s by the power of God. I wrote ‘academic excellence’ as one of the prayer items and by God’s grace, it is happening. There was a time that I got sick with a toothache a week before my end of semester exams. While I was still feeling pain, I was watching the live Interactive Prayer Service on April 6, 2024, through Facebook, and I prayed along with Brother Chris. When I started my exams, I was afraid that the results might not come the way I wanted, but when the results came out, my Grade point average (GPA) didn’t drop. I passed with distinctions and I was on the Dean’s list.

“Another testimony is that in July 2024, there was a call for Social Venture Challenge applications by the Mastercard Foundation Resolution Project. My two friends and I applied for the Social Venture Challenge (SVC). The SVC is about discovering challenges that people in our community are facing and how those challenges can be solved. When it is successful, funds and other necessities are given. So, my friends and I discovered a problem and submitted a proposal to the Resolution Project. I prayed along with Brother Chris on the first Saturday of August and September. On September 7, 2024, Brother Chris said that we should not just be praying for our nations and communities but we should pray that God should make us ones with a difference to make a positive impact in our communities. These words sank deep in my heart and they were in line with what I was praying regarding the Social Venture Challenge. On September 13, the results came out and my team and our social venture challenge was selected to be part of the semi-finals. Glory be to God! When Brother Chris told us to sing along with him, ‘Let the power, mercy, favour of God come down’ – it really came down. Hallelujah!

“In November, my team received an email that the Social Venture competition finals and semifinals would take place online in December. We pitched our project online, and we passed both the semifinals and finals. I’m happy to share with you that our social venture project was awarded $9000, which is beyond what we asked for! Initially, when we were applying, the maximum seed funds that were supposed to be given to each team was $5000. But God has done exceedingly abundantly above all we asked for and thought of (Ephesians 3:20). Thank you, Brother Chris, and the entire God’s Heart TV Team for your prayers. God was really on our side! When we were pitching our project, we had the toughest judge (the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Resolution Project) and we were even afraid that we were not going to make it. But to my surprise, when we were pitching our project, he was just nodding his head, and he only asked us two questions, which were very easy and even the other judges were impressed with our project idea. This can only be God!

“Finally, as part of my scholarship, I’m required to do two internships, one when I’m in the 6th semester and the other one in my last semester before graduating. I was supposed to start my first internship early in 2025 in Malawi but I hadn’t gotten one – despite starting to apply in November 2024 while I was still in school. I sent another prayer request to god’s Heart TV, and I want to testify to the goodness of God that I got the internship! I’m short of words because every time I’m invited for the Interactive Prayer Service and I join, God meets my needs. Brother Chris, may God continue to use you mightily. May God continue to rain His power of blessings on you, your wife, and the entire God’s heart tv team. Thank You, Jesus!”
