WAITING WELL FOR GOD’S TIME

Hebrews 10:36-39, “You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised. For, ‘In just a little while, He who is coming will come and will not delay.’ And, ‘But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.’ But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved.”

Are you in a waiting season – seeking something from God that has not yet come? Are you waiting well? The fact that you are waiting on the Lord is not a justification for laziness or mismanagement – you have to make use of whatever is in your hands today, to do what is right and work hard towards what you believe God has put in your heart.

While we are waiting, satan will do anything to try and stop us from acting faith in the present. However, waiting should not be an idle time; waiting is an active time because a time of waiting is a time to prepare. God is building you.

We all know that if you go to school but you don’t pay attention, you’re not going to progress. In the same way, you have to pay attention to the lesson God is teaching you in your waiting period. The lesson could be dealing with a bad habit or an area of your character that needs to be adjusted.

If God sees that you are not yet ready for what He’s prepared to release to you, in His mercy, He will wait until you are ready spiritually and your character is equipped.

So don’t jump ahead of God. Vision waits for God’s time. However, ambition does not. That is why we have to wait well for God’s time by valuing God’s processing and applying every lesson as we stay in faith.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, help me to value the season I am in today – to learn what I should know so that I can be all that You have called me to be. Help me not to allow ambition to rule me but to wait well in faith. In Jesus’ name, amen.
