Matthew 11:2-5, “And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples and said to Him, ‘Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?’ Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them’.”

Many today wrestle with questions just as John and his disciples did in today’s Scripture – questions in this journey of life, even moments of doubt. When John had questions, he brought them to the One who holds the answers. He brought his questions to Jesus – he did not question Him. This teaches us that it’s not wrong to have questions – such as ‘God, where are You in this mess?’ ‘What are You saying to me through this trouble?’ ‘What is Your purpose? What is Your plan?’ ‘God, where are You? Why are You allowing me to face this?’ God does not mind questions as long as you are seeking Him in the midst of them.

As you are busy thinking about the question, He is busy working out the answer. Trust His heart even before you see His hand. Believe His hand is working even when you cannot trace His handwriting.

So today, bring your questions to God – don’t question God. Bring your complaints to God – don’t complain about God. Confusion should never lead you to a place of confrontation with your Maker. Instead, accept Jesus’ invitation to receive His rest as He said in Matthew 11:28, “Come to Me, all you who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” For those who leave everything in God’s hands will surely see God’s hands in everything.

Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, today I come to You with my questions and confusion and leave them in Your able hands. Thank You for being the answer. In Jesus’ name, amen.
