“Hello, my name is Babu from Kenya. I am a voluntary Kiswahili translator for God’s Heart TV. I told myself that one day I would give my testimony, and God has been faithful; it is my time to share what God has done for me! In March last year, my wife and I suffered a miscarriage; medically, they called it a blighted ovum. I was honestly broken because we had waited quite a while to get pregnant and were really looking forward to starting a family. However, this miscarriage was one of the biggest turning points of my life, especially spiritually, because it drew me closer to wanting to know God more. Before this, I regularly wavered in my faith, being carried by emotion and circumstance.

“During that period, on top of being a preacher at my church, I just felt that I needed to get closer to God. I sent a prayer request to God’s Heart TV, and the team responded promptly and invited my wife and me to the Interactive Prayer Service on April 5, 2025. In preparation, apart from the videos they encouraged us to watch, I also watched some of the testimonies on the God’s Heart TV YouTube channel. This is when I came across the testimony of a lady called Mulenga from Zambia. The video is titled ‘Miracle Baby’, and she finally had her baby after two miscarriages. I remember I was watching it alone in the sitting room; my wife, who was in the kitchen washing dishes, stopped what she was doing and came to watch, and we were really encouraged.

“The following morning, my wife said she had had a dream that Brother Chris had visited our area of Kawangware and, when he met my wife, he told her, ‘Don’t worry, your son is asleep; he is coming’. I held steadfastly to those words because I knew that was Jesus Christ speaking directly to us, and He never lies. This pushed me to want to do more for God, and after joining the Interactive Prayer Service, I applied to volunteer to translate content into Kiswahili because I wanted as many people as possible to be reached with these sermons, testimonies, and prayers.

“One of the very first videos I translated was Brother Chris sharing a message about his son Josiah, and I remember translating keenly and praying along, telling myself that one day I shall also have a son from God – who is to hold, not to keep. In June, we conceived again and we were joyous. However, around August 11, 2025, my wife began to bleed again, but this time, I did not cry, I did not break down, and I was not heartbroken. I remembered that my son was asleep, and he was coming. My wife bled every morning and evening for two months, and then, on one evening, her amniotic fluid leaked out for four straight hours. You can only imagine how heartbroken I was, but deep down the voice just kept coming: ‘Your son is asleep; he is coming.’ After the bleeding stopped and the amniotic fluid had leaked, we knew that this was a second miscarriage, but we never once questioned God; we thanked Him for everything, knowing we were under His will.

“Two weeks later, as we were praying in church – at that time, it was just me and my wife – we finished praying and were just sitting and talking when she said she had felt a kick in her stomach. Tears welled up in her eyes, and there was excitement and confusion in my heart. I knelt down and thanked God so much. I kept asking her, ‘Are you sure you have felt a kick?’ and she said, ‘I have felt something inside my stomach.’ That Sunday, I was set to preach, and my wife said that the moment I greeted the church, the baby kicked hard, and this time she did not doubt it. After the sermon, she came to me and said, ‘Our baby is in the womb.’

“You cannot imagine the roller coaster of emotions I felt. We kept it to ourselves, going about our normal routine, just thanking God. Then, at the 28th week, we decided to go for an ultrasound scan. The sonographer was quiet for a very long time, which caused us a lot of worry. However, the same sonographer who announced the miscarriage to us was the one who was on duty that day, and after about 10 minutes of not saying a thing, he played the baby’s heartbeat and showed us our baby. We were overjoyed.

“Around the 36th week, my wife went into labour. A scan showed she was preterm, but another scan showed that her placenta was for someone who should be at 39 weeks. That confusion continued into the labour ward where she was admitted. She was in labour for over 30 hours and I started getting worried. I remember at around 2am on Saturday, I told God, ‘If You can, please save my wife and my baby.’ After saying this, I took my phone and went on Twitter to try and distract my mind, only for the first post I saw to be Mark 9:23. Someone had posted it, and it says: ‘If you can?’ said Jesus. ‘Everything is possible for one who believes.’

“I silently laughed at myself and also marvelled at God’s ways. After about 32 hours, the doctors recommended her for a C-section, and I was a bit afraid because I did not have the money to pay for the procedure, but I told them to go ahead because they needed my consent. The procedure started at 3:29 am on Saturday, February 7, 2026, and our son, Tetelestai Yohana Biko, was born at 3:48 am. Through God’s intervention, people sent me enough money (including our landlord) to offset the medical bills, and the insurance kicked in to cover the rest. For all those wondering, Tetelestai is Greek for ‘It is finished’; for me, those were the most powerful words Jesus Christ spoke on the cross because they signified to me that the work He had come to do – that is, save a sinner like me – was complete. Yohana is the Kiswahili version of John; we named him after John the Baptist. And Biko is the surname, my name. All honour and glory belong to Jesus Christ, and I hope that someone who reads this is encouraged that Jesus Christ has never stopped performing miracles. Thank You, Jesus Christ; thank You, God. Grace and peace to you all.”
