Good Friday provides an opportunity to reflect upon the greatest sacrifice and expression of love ever shown to mankind demonstrated in Jesus Christ’s obedience to the point of death – even death on a cross (Philippians 2:8). The Son of God was flogged, tortured, humiliated, dehumanised before He was brutally murdered. Yet, He responded with forgiveness knowing that His death and resurrection would accomplish salvation for mankind (Luke 23:34). By faith He knew that death was not the end – that resurrection would follow His crucifixion. And because He overcame, we overcome as we trust in the finished work on the cross of Calvary. Today, instead of being cross about your current situation, look to the cross where the price was paid for the blessing you seek.
