1 Peter 1:3-4, “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.”
Calvary Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ to you and your family on this Resurrection Sunday! Today we join believers all over the world to reflect on what the cross of Calvary means for us and how it impacts the way we live our lives each day.
Many want to enjoy the great benefits and blessings of Calvary. Because of the cross of Christ, you can have a relationship with the One who created you. You can live a life filled with purpose, meaning, contentment and hope. You no longer have to live bound by the pain of the past or burdened by the fear of the future. Because of the cross, you can face life’s final deadline with assurance, confidence and courage.
However, there are many people today who ignorantly or stubbornly cling on to what Christ has paid the price to free them from. This is because they still have one leg in Christ and one leg in the world – trying to strike a balance between sinful indulgence and actual obedience to the treasures of God’s Word.
Christianity cannot be fully enjoyed unless it is truly embraced. If you don’t count the cost, you will soon carry the cost. But if you count the cost, you will soon count the blessings. To enjoy the benefits of Calvary, strive from a place of surrender to the One who bore your sins for you. And thrive in the peace of surrender to the One who has good plans for you.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, we recognise Your precious blood as the most precious commodity in the history of mankind. Help us, to understand the spiritual meaning of the cross so that we never take Your grace for granted. In Jesus’ name, amen.
