“Grace and peace to everyone; may His great love be perfected in your beautiful hearts. My name is Romanus and I am from Namibia. Before I joined the Interactive Prayer Service with Brother Chris, my life was hell to say the least, due to various struggles in my life. At age 13, I dropped out of school and became a beggar. While on the streets, I started smoking cigarettes, and a few years later, I was introduced to marijuana by my friend who was already smoking it. It was great on the first day, but as days went by, I became addicted to it and I would smoke three to six hand-rolled marijuana joints. After two years of smoking marijuana, the ‘high’ I got from it weakened, so my friend – who had already shifted to mandrax while I was still smoking marijuana – introduced me to it. As a beggar, I would make N200 to N250 a day, so I would hook up with my friend because he knew where to get the drugs. He bought himself mandrax, and I bought myself a marijuana joint and smoked. However, as he was taking the mandrax pill, I couldn’t sit back and watch how he enjoyed it and how it heated him up, so I said, ‘Let me try it,’ and from that day, I took the mandrax pill. As I smoked this mandrax, I became addicted and started to steal, deceiving, and lying – anything that I could do just to get hold of mandrax. I got a bad name; prison doors opened. I went in and out of prison. Moreover, staying late at bars drinking became part of my life, too. When I started drinking, sniffing, and smoking the mandrax, I couldn’t remember the things I did. After that, I was introduced to crack cocaine. This is where things got worse; family issues arose due to my bad ways caused by drugs. I eventually got kicked out of the house where I stayed with my uncle and his kids. People became afraid of me because I was mixing mandrax and crack cocaine.

In December 2020, I was caught stealing, arrested, and sentenced to one year and four months. I served half of my sentence in prison and was released on amnesty. When I came out, I started taking cannabis again, bound by drugs. While I continued smoking, by God’s grace through my dad and mum, I was referred to a local church where a shift started for the good in my life.

I met a man of God who introduced me to Jesus Christ in 2021, and confession began. After this, I had a dream to abstain from old friends or I would end up with another seven years in prison; so, I withdrew from bad friends and I repented while still smoking cannabis. It was a struggle trying to quit; as I joined a church and relocated to another town, I attended church but couldn’t stop the habit of smoking marijuana. Leaders would admonish me about smoking, as I would smoke and then come to church; I felt bad but could not help myself, until I told the same man of God. He then introduced me to God’s Heart TV and the Interactive Prayer Service in 2023.

After joining a few Interactive Prayer Services, the evangelists contacted me for a follow-up in 2024, and I joined an Encouragement Service. After that prayer, I received a dream where an unknown man gave me a joint to smoke, but I refused and walked away. I believe that dream signalled my deliverance. When I woke up, from that day until today, I haven’t touched a cigarette, cannabis, marijuana, or crack cocaine; since then, I have been delivered by the Lord.

I return all the glory to our Lord Jesus Christ! Thank you, Brother Chris and the God’s Heart TV team. Truly speaking, I advise parents to seek early help if they know their children are facing similar situations and problems. Let us all run to God because He is the only true Helper. As the Scripture says in Hebrews 4:16, ‘Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.’ “
