“My name is Anita from Botswana. At the beginning of August this year, I woke up one morning and discovered that I had completely lost my voice. What initially seemed like an ordinary illness soon developed into something much more serious. Alongside the loss of my voice, I began experiencing fever-like symptoms, including severe headaches, persistent coughing, a high temperature, loss of taste, and extreme fatigue. Within that month alone, I visited the doctor about three times and was hardly able to go to work. I work for a radio station, where my voice is an essential part of my job. Losing my voice meant that I could not perform my duties properly, and as the illness persisted, I spent most of August on sick leave.
During my first visit to the doctor, the illness was treated as a normal case of flu. However, after almost three weeks, my condition deteriorated. I began struggling to breathe, experienced persistent chest pains, and became increasingly dizzy. At that point, the doctor became concerned that I could have contracted COVID-19, tuberculosis, or pneumonia. I was sent for a chest X-ray, and the results showed that my lungs were swollen and that an infection was present. By then, I had already been sick for about four weeks and had been taking medication, but there had been very little improvement. Thankfully, the doctor explained that the infection had not penetrated deeply into my lungs. I was told that the persistent coughing was my body’s way of fighting the infection and that the condition was also contributing to the loss of my voice. I was prescribed a different course of medication and given another week of sick leave. The doctor explained that if there was no improvement by the end of that week, further tests, including blood tests, would be necessary.
Then came what I believe was a significant turning point in my journey. During the sixth week of the illness, on September 1, 2025, in response to a prayer request I had to submitted to God’s Heart TV, I received a WhatsApp message informing me that Brother Chris wanted to speak with me by phone that evening. When he called, he asked how I was doing. I told him that I was very unwell and explained everything I had been experiencing. He told me that he would pray for me. Brother Chris prayed for my healing and also prayed for my rededication to the Lord.
Two days later, on Thursday, I experienced what was perhaps the worst headache of my life. As the day progressed, the pain became increasingly severe. By evening, I felt as though death itself was calling my name. I was extremely dizzy. My body was shaking, I had heart palpitations, and I could not keep any food down. I eventually went to the bathroom, and suddenly I felt what seemed like a burst on the right side of my nose. A yellowish, watery substance began coming out of my nose. It was not mucus at all; it had a very unpleasant smell with what I can only describe as a metallic scent. Immediately after that happened, something changed. For the first time in weeks, I felt air moving freely through my nose and all the way down into my lungs. I could breathe perfectly. It felt as though an enormous amount of fresh air had suddenly entered my body. I could even feel the air moving upwards towards my head and into my brain. My nose became sore because of the sensation and the sudden amount of air passing through it, but for the first time in weeks, I could breathe freely.
As I write this testimony, I am still breathing normally, and my voice is gradually returning. The illness had completely changed the tone and sound of my voice, but I can now hear my normal voice slowly coming back. Today, I can say that I have seen positive changes in my health since that prayer. I give all glory and thanks to Jesus Christ for what I believe has been His healing power at work in my life.”
