Easter is a time when we remember that Christ gave Himself up for us freely – therefore, it is an opportunity for us to express His love by freely giving to those in need. As such, God’s Heart TV collaborated with some of our local partners to practically demonstrate God’s love over the Easter period to a group of needy elderly people in Eastern Uganda. With the support of God’s Heart TV partners globally, 118 care bundles were purchased and given – including a month’s supply of essential household items such as rice, cooking oil, salt, sugar, matches, washing powder and soap. Not only were the elderly recipients living in extreme poverty but some are physically challenged including those who are blind, deaf, physically immobile and are fully dependent on others for their daily living. Despite their situation, these elderly people are often the caretakers of grandchildren with no means of cultivating food to provide for them. Where possible, beneficiaries were taken to a central location to receive the Word of God with their care bundles, while those less able to travel were visited in their homes. What a joy to celebrate Christ’s resurrection through this act of giving!
