“Grace and peace to you in Jesus’ Name. My name if Nomonde from South Africa. I was devastated; in the month of July, one of the young ladies who was one of my tenants was one of the workers who lost her job a few months after staying with me as a tenant. I felt very bad because I depend on renting out some rooms. That was after months of being without tenants. Just before July, she advertised on my behalf on Facebook. There was just one response and a very reliable tenant with a secure job; I was so grateful. From the beginning of August, he took one of the biggest rooms, paying rent and a deposit without any problems. On the second week of his first month, he wanted to sit down with me. I knew something was not right. He is working for the Auditor-General, and he told me that they were leaving for Mthatha from August to the end of December, and they would not be coming back on Fridays, as they were to finish the auditing by December. I kept on losing tenants like this.
I decided to send a prayer request to Brother Chris asking God for tenants; that was just a week before the end of September. This young girl asked me if she could advertise for me. I was reluctant but I said let us give it a try. I have never seen such a response – my phone was full of people wanting to come and view. I even thought it was a scam!
Among these people, there was a business person who said he was just looking for a place to rest when he is in East London. When I said yes, that very day he paid rent and a deposit. He does not stay here; this is just a resting place when he is in East London on business.
The rooms were taken before the end of the month, and I am still getting calls for rooms! I even made the mistake of giving away a room I had already promised to reserve for someone. She was crying. Fortunately, there was a room that needed fixing, but I could not fix it because of financial constraints. I was able to fix that one as well. She has a room.
I am so grateful – filled with gratefulness, it is as if I am dreaming. Thank You, Lord.”
