“Grace and peace to you in Jesus’ name. My name is Laura from the UK. I would like to testify about the Lord’s goodness and faithfulness. By the special grace of God, I have recently given birth to my third baby. The pregnancy was smooth. However, later on, the baby appeared to be growing too big, and I was advised by my medical team that I may need to have a caesarean section to deliver the baby if the baby reached full term, or have membrane sweeps performed from 38 weeks in order to bring on natural labour, and deliver the baby prior to the due date – due to the complications of giving birth to a big baby. The membrane sweep procedure was performed four times to no avail. At this stage, I was now six days overdue, anxious that the baby kept getting bigger, and wondering if I would be able to deliver such a big baby naturally. When I was almost a week overdue, I was offered an induction. I was very nervous about being induced as I had never been induced before. In fact, I was full of anxiety about giving birth overall, even though this was my third pregnancy.
“By the special grace of God, Brother Chris prayed for me over the telephone on the day before my scheduled induction. 20 minutes after the prayer, my waters broke! This was a sign to me that God was in complete control of the birth. My husband and I were full of joy with inner peace! I rang the hospital to let them know and they told me to come in. Labour only fully started after my husband and I got our other 2 kids settled with a friend and I was also settled at the hospital – perfect timing! God was indeed in control! Labour and birth lasted 2 hours and a half. The medical team were surprised that I had a short, unmedicated natural labour and birth, as I was booked for an induction for the following day.
“One of the midwives said, ‘Wow, this was the fastest and uncomplicated birth you’ve had!’ Indeed, this was the fastest labour and birth I’ve had and without any complications. I was discharged home on the same day. All glory to God! This experience reminds me of Philippians 4:6-7 – “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” I encourage everyone to submit all their anxieties to God in prayer. He will take control of your situation, and give you inner peace. He is faithful! 1 Corinthians 1:9 says, “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” Thank You, Jesus! And thank you, Brother Chris, for allowing God to use you as His vessel and the time you take to pray for people!”
