Luke 10:40 – “But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!””
Martha was more concerned about her sister’s business than her own business and Jesus’ presence in her house. As inhabitants of the same house, Martha and Mary had the same benefit of having the Lord Jesus Christ in their house. But Martha chose to look at Mary instead of focusing on Jesus. Martha was so worried and troubled about many things that her heart was not free. Brothers and sisters, it is not what we do for God that positions us for His attention. It is the state of our heart.
