DON’T BE SPIRITUALLY STRESSED!
Philippians 4:6-7, ‘Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.’
People of God, we live in a world where trouble does not require an invitation before making an unwelcome appearance. How do we remain steady in such unsteady times? You may be physically stressed, you may be emotionally stressed but don’t be spiritually stressed! It is our responsibility to guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. How can we do this effectively? According to Philippians 4:6-7, the remedy for anxiety is clear: take your situation to God in prayer. A prayerful heart is a peaceful heart but a prayerless heart is a restless heart. The result of prayer, alongside thanksgiving, doesn’t necessarily mean that God will change our situation or remove challenges, but we will pass through them with the uncommon peace of God guarding our hearts and minds.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, I confidently place my problems into Your Hands, knowing that You will put Your peace in my heart. Replace the anxiety within with a Holy relaxation; replace the night with the day; replace the darkness within with Your gentle light. Thank You for refreshing my mind and renewing my strength. Help me to continue to guard my heart, through prayer and thanksgiving and by focusing on Your Word. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
