YOUR INPUT DETERMINES YOUR OUTPUT

Philippians 4:8-9, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.”

People of God, we must be careful of what we expose our hearts to, what we pay attention to and what we are feeding our spirits. Don’t allow yourself to get carried away by the opinions of people who do not hold your future or define your destiny.

As Christians, we should be careful of what we hear, because what we hear can influence our thoughts and our thoughts can influence our conduct and behaviour. Remember, everyone has opinions but not everyone has God’s wisdom. Philippians 4:8 encourages us to mediate on and to feed our souls with God’s Word. Examine yourself! If your challenge causes anxiety, check what you are giving your attention to and what is influencing your thoughts. No one is above influence. As Romans 10:17 reminds us, faith comes by hearing and obeying God’s Word. When your heart truly believes, you will enter the perfect rest of God.

Prayer: Oh Holy Spirit, communicate Yourself to my heart, through Your Word and by Your Spirit. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
