John 8:31-32, “Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, ‘If you abide in My Word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free’.”
People of God, we are living in a generation where fake news, products and appearances are prevalent. Watch and pray! The days of just taking what you hear, see and read at face value are gone. You have to delve deeper past the profile picture, fact-find further than the headline, diligently dig beyond the manifesto, probe past the charisma to the heart. You need to confirm – is it really pure? Lest you consume, believe or invite something into your heart that is contaminated!
Examine what you read, hear and see in the light of God’s Word. Examination requires us not to accept things at face value. Anything that is real, anything that is true will stand the test of time. Real products last; fake products fade. An original document lasts; a photocopy fades.
To become God’s person, you must follow His process. The problem with our generation today is we are too impatient to go through the process, which is why we seem to prefer fake over real. We would rather try the easy hack to avoid the hassle of hustling harder.
Are you living by imitation or by inspiration? Are you moved by worldly comparison or Godly conviction? Are you respecting the principle of processing or are you attempting to find a shortcut? Whatever is built on a foundation that is fake or faulty will eventually collapse.
In this world where there is so much fake and so many people living in fantasy, the only thing that can sustain you is the truth of God’s Word. No matter how fast fake appears to run at first, the truth will eventually overtake it. So examine yourself and others in the light of God’s Word. Find out the truth and the truth will set you free!
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, sanctify me by Your Truth – Your Word is Truth. Help me to keep Your Word hidden in my heart that I might not sin against You. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
