1 Corinthians 10:31, ‘So then, whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of [our great] God.’

The fruit of the genuine pursuit of your purpose in life is revealed in your lifestyle – day-by-day, hour-by-hour, minute-by-minute. It starts with what is in your hands today, by glorifying God in your situation, expressed in the little things of your daily life.

When you love your neighbour as yourself, even when they respond to you with hatred, you are walking a path that glorifies God. When you choose to release forgiveness to a person who has hurt you, even when, in the natural, you have a right to hold offence, you are glorifying God. When you choose to work hard and pursue excellence in the assignment ahead of you, even when people don’t seem to appreciate you, you are walking the path that glorifies God. When you acknowledge your mistakes and run to God in repentance, even when it would be easier to cover up your wrong or point fingers at others, you are walking a path that glorifies God in line with your purpose.

With the right perspective of life, everything you pass through is an opportunity to build your character. We are living in a world that is full of distractions so if you don’t know your purpose, it’s very easy to become polluted. That is why we need more of God and less of ourselves. We need more of His love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control – we need more of Him! The more you engage your heart with the Word of God, the more your life lines up with His purpose. You are created for His glory. So how can you glorify God with the little, everyday things in your life today? Prayer: Oh Holy Spirit of love, forgive my hatred. Holy Spirit of peace, forgive my grumbling. Holy Spirit of goodness, forgive my evil deeds. Make me holy as You are holy. In Jesus’ name, amen.
